The powerful love of God we felt as we served, still lives in our hearts as we continue to serve.
Sculpting is hard. Sculpting our Savior is impossible. But because of my life’s story and how I began to sculpt I can witness that it has been through His mighty power and the power of the Holy Spirit that I’ve been blessed to create tangible depictions of Him.
When I stand next to a brother or sister and we share deep, sacred feelings all memories of how hard it was to create it vanish. My heart is filled and overflows with love for Him and for the soul who is standing next to me.
I have found no better antidote to personal discouragement or sadness then to go and serve someone else. Like everything our Savior Jesus Christ asks of us, the blessings that flow from it are far greater than whatever “sacrifice” we may think we’re offering. I have experienced this so many times in my life.
Finland is where the Lord became my everlasting Light.
I’ve found that the moments of service I remember most aren’t big they’re the times I’ve simply given my time when someone needed it. Thinking about Jesus and how He spent His time with people has changed how I see my own time. I try to keep space in my life to be available, because I’ve learned that even small efforts can matter.
More than 50 years ago as I served as a missionary there, God gave me the gift of love for the Finns, for the country, for the culture and language. I came to see the people I met as beloved children of Heavenly Father. That love has been with me ever since.
When my children were young and required a lot of time and energy, I had a shift in my perspective that helped me realize all that was being given was a God Aligned, helping to bring Heaven to Earth.
Finland is the land of so much beauty and amazing people who will change your life for the better
I love helping the one. I had an older aunt that moved to St George and then her husband died. She was lonely and I would make meals for her and go visit her. I included my children in this service. She would light up when we would come to visit. My kids learned how to serve and give of their time even passing out her Halloween Candy.
Finland is the place I came to know my Heavenly Father. It is where I fully committed myself to Him. It is a place I love with people I love.
Finland is my favorite place on Earth! It’s where I came to know my Savior, His love for me, and His love for God’s children.
It is my “waters of Mormon”.
Finland is where I learned that God loves all of His children perfectly.
Finland is where I came to know my Savior. The two years that I spent on my mission in that beautiful country changed me forever. I had the opportunity to serve the amazing Finnish people, be served by them, and learn more about my Savior from all the interactions I had. God is in Finland and he seeks to bless those people with his light!
Finland is holy ground
Finland is a place of special people and places. It is also a time of great difficulty and reward. It is a place where miracles are constantly happening. It is a place of beauty and harsh weather, joyfulness for those who accept the invitation and sorrow for those who don’t. Finland is the epitome of sisu, where it abides and thrives. It is a place of darkness and great light. I have felt the presence of that light there, whose light shines to all men. God bless the people in Finland.
Finland is a land of loyalty and service. A Finn once told me that to their core, the Finns are service oriented people. I’ve always strived to emulate the strength and charity that I experienced from all kinds of people I met in Finland
Finland is where I learned to truly understand and appreciate the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Finland has my heart
Finland is where I learned how to consecrate my life to my Savior. It is a place I love with all my heart.
Finland is a land of beauty and light, where I learned what it means to trust my Savior in all seasons of my life.
Finland is my “waters of Mormon,” full of angels with whom I grew closer to my Savior.
Finland is the place I grew to know my Savior through sharing His gospel.
Finland is a place of consecration. I am inspired by the many faithful Saints living there who exemplify the Savior. My short time there was filled with many experiences where I could see the hand of Christ.
Finland is where I found my peace in Christ.
Finland is my Waters of Mormon. The place that is my home away from home. A part of me will always be there.
Finland changed my life forever. Some of the best times of my life. I’ve never loved people and a place more.
Finland is home. It’s where I came to know the love of God more fully; for both his children and for me.
